Motivation:
Color corrections are one of toughest tasks in photo editing
Software: Adobe Photoshop 7
One task that really demands skill is color corrections to images. Not the
simple hue shift or brightness contrast corrections - but more demanding regional
and tonal curves shifts. This requires a range of tools and methods that we
explore here in Adobe Photoshop. There are a whole range of automatic color
correction tools in many programs that use the Color Histogram associated
with every image to make educated guesses as to how to correct the colors
in an image. These tools are in Corel PhotoPaint, Jasc PaintShop Pro and a
host of other programs. They certainly can speed up color correction; but
as we shall see in the demo below these automatic tools can take users only
so
far.
As can be seen the Auto color correction tools carry us so far. Watch for
more upcoming tutorials and demos on color corrections to see how to do some
of the tough, regional and skewed color corrections.
